CAIRO — Former CAPS United forward Abbas Amidu finally ended speculation surrounding his future after signing for Egyptian topflight side Entag El-Harby for a fee of $30 000, the Cairo-based military side announced last week.

The 27-year-old forward has put pen to paper on a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2020, becoming the club’s 15th summer signing.

Amidu is set to join Entag El-Harby, who have been seeking a replacement for Oumed Oukri after he joined Smouha this summer.

The speedy striker has previously played for Zimbabwe’s Black Mambas FC, South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, Black Leopards FC, and Emirati side Masafi SC before joining CAPS United in January 2016.

He spent two years at the Zimbabwean club, helping them win the league title in his debut season as well as qualifying for the 2017 CAF Champions League group stages after scoring against TP Mazembe in the qualifying rounds of the tournament.

Amidu broke into the scene after scoring a double for CAPS United as they crushed Zamalek in the CAF Champions League group stages last July, coming out as 3-1 winners in Zimbabwe.
