Former controversial Zanu PF youth member Fidelis Fengu has made sensational claims that Solomon Mujuru advised Simba Makoni and Zapu leader Dumiso Dabengwa to ditch Zanu PF in a ploy to pave way for his wife Joice Mujuru to take over from President Robert Mugabe.
Dabengwa and Makoni left Zanu PF in 2008 when the opposition MDC seemed to be so strong to wrestle power from Zanu PF.
"Simba Makoni and Dumiso Dabengwa took themselves out of the succession race , acting on advice from Gen Rex , but in reality clearing the way for Joyce to take full control," Fengu said.
"Too bad he didn't live to finish the game plan , I wonder the terrain would be like with him around."
