Dynamos, for the third year running, have provided the Soccer Star of the Year following the crowning of midfielder Tawanda Muparati at the 2013 season’s best player on Friday night.
The 30-year-old beat to the crown, first runner-up Harare City winger Silas Songani and Kudakwashe Mahachi of Chicken Inn, who was the second runner-up.
He became the 11th Dynamos player to win the ultimate individual award in Zimbabwean football.
In doing so, Muparati took the throne from former teammate Denver Mukamba, who is now with Wits University in South Africa.
The winner the year before that was goalkeeper Washington Arubi, who last year joined University of Pretoria.
Mpumalanga Black Aces new signing Tendai Ndoro was awarded the golden boot award after concluding the season on 18 goals while Caps United midfielder and Young Warriors captain Ronald Pfumbidzai names Rookie of the Season.
The Goalkeeper of the Season award went to Black Rhinos’ Hebert Rusawo by virtue of conceding the least number of goals.
After guiding Harare City to a third sport finish, Bigboy Mawiwi was named Coach of the Year while Nomore Masundire was the Referee of the Year.
