There was drama at Guruve magistrate court when a 20-year-old drug addict wept uncontrollably after begin sentenced to four month in jail for possession of cannabis.
The court heard that Innocent Musendami was found in possession of a twist of cannabis in his pocket when he was picked by detectives as a thief suspect.
Public prosecutor Ms Spiwe Makarichi told the court that on 15 July the accused was picked by CID Mvurwi as a suspect of an unlawful entry and theft charges.
Investigations by the C.I.D proved that he had nothing to do with the case but was subsequently found with a twist of cannabis.
It also emerged in court that he was previously convicted on 27 January with the same charge.
The magistrate Shingirai Mutiro jailed him four months saying that he failed to reform hence a custodial sentence was the most appropriate.
