Top local artistes billed to perform at the Change a Life Concert have confirmed attendance at the gig scheduled to take place at Wingate Golf Club, Harare, on August 18.

The concert, organised by Impala Car Rental, is an effort to raise funds for the Alfred Dondo Foundation’s (ADF) philanthropic work and it will be headlined by South African rapper Nasty C, supported by locals Jah Prayzah, Ammara Brown, Ex Q, King 98 and Takura, among others.

In an interview with The Standard Style on Friday, ever-rising local hip-hop act Takura confirmed his slot, highlighting that his music about amplification of underprivileged voices fits well with the theme of the event.

“I live a life to inspire and change other people’s lives; this is why my music is very personal.”

Takura will take time to serve music lovers with his recent hits as a build-up to be the first local hip-hop artiste to Fill Up HICC later this year.

“I am more excited about this show because it is more for the kind of music I make, so there will be a lot of fans that listen to my music. I have a lot of surprises for people on that day,” he said.

Speaking through his manager Samuel Mukondo, Military Touch Movement’s Ex Q promised fireworks when he takes to the stage on the day.

“We are honoured to be part of the [Alfred] Dondo Foundation as we are part of the concert to change a life and we like the vision of the foundation and the event. So, we promise our fans that it is going to be worth it,” he said.

All proceeds, including ticket sales, concessions, auction items, merchandise and sponsorships, will be donated to the ADF.

The charity organisation looks after 65 orphans in Mashonaland East province and was founded three years ago by Thompson Dondo, who is the CEO of Impala Car Rental.
